Pack the absorbent product the person already wears, in the size already written on the last pack, and add a spare for a delay. That rule covers a weekend with family and a longer trip. An adult child packing a parent’s bag can use the same rule without switching brands at the airport.
Count from days at home. If a usual day uses three pieces, a four-day trip starts at twelve, then one or two more for a late flight or a long drive from the airport. If the usual day uses a different number, use that number. The figure is for the suitcase, from what already gets used at home. The empty pack in the bathroom is a better source for the count than a guess made while the suitcase is open.
Split the stack so one bag is not the whole supply
Put part of the stack in the bag that stays with the person, and part in the bag that might be checked or left in a hotel room. A delay, a lost suitcase, or a bag that goes to the wrong carousel still leaves a few pieces in the bag you kept with you. Both bags should hold the same product.
Wrapped pieces are easier to tuck into a personal item. Prevail Daily Pads for Bladder Leaks, Maximum Absorbency, 13 in, 39 ct, is individually wrapped and listed as latex-free. The 13-inch pad is a different product, and mixing them to save space changes the thing they are used to.

On the way, put the pieces you may need before you reach the room in a pocket you can open while seated. Keep another portion of the same product in the checked bag. If you want a backup brand, buy it before the trip and pack it, using the size on that product’s own chart. A store near the hotel may not carry the waist range printed on the pack you use now.
